Forehead kiss

I always want to have a forehead kiss. No doubt a kiss on the forehead is a very tender gesture because it isn't somewhere you're normally kissed and your forehead is usually ignored.

From the first date to wedding day, kisses are very important. They can tell you a lot about a person. Kisses show passion, energy or a lack thereof. In the stages of a relationship, the French kiss is the favorite. It is a great tool for measuring chemistry and it can be as passionate as you make it. For me, I think forehead kiss is the most romantic kisses of all. A kiss on the forehead symbolizes love in its purest form, untainted with the pitfalls of romance. It conveys warmth and compassion better than the latter actually. Even though some say it is equivalent to the kiss of death, friend’s care or mommy’s kiss, but still I prefer it. I’m not saying that I don’t like French kiss. I love French kiss but I’m more to forehead kiss. It just that I feel secure, tenderly love, personal and protected when someone I love gives me that kisses. It will always give me a reassuring feeling. I don’t want to have a kiss that last for that moment. The moment when we had a great kiss together then the next day, we forget everything. Apparently kissing on the forehead means “I want to be with you forever”. So, each time I barely stare at my love one, I can feel and remember those meaning words.

My rule, do not kiss me on the forehead unless you are in love with me!

Morning! Morning!

My mom teach Music despite of English. She likes collecting the children songs. Too many of her collection sometimes make me feel like my home is a kinder garden or nursery. Just the matter of no children, that's make the differences. I join my mom twice in conducting action song since I study at Labuan Matriculation on 2008. Based on my experience, it's interesting and I'm having a great moment with it. The tough task was to handle the chaos, not every students would insist directly to my command. You know how students behave especially year 1, 2 and 3. But when they treat me like their "mom", "aunt" or "big sister", honestly my heart melt. My sensitivity make us easy to get along. I love to see some of them act friendly, talkative and actively during rehearsal or practice session. They look so cute for both boys and girls. Now, my mom didn't participate in action song no more as she already transferred to another school, St. Anthony this year. Last 2 years was my last action song with them.

Oh my! it's 7 a.m., I watch the sunrise right through my window and I can hear bird's chirping beautifully outside my house. What a wonderful morning!! Today my course mate are having their trip to Batang Ai-Sri Aman-Bintulu-Gua Niah-Miri. Its kind of weird to me as I'm not joining them this semester. I miss my friends, its been awhile I didn't meet them. I know this trip is the last trip for my batch. I really sorry for not taking that core subject. I plan to have it during my extend. So now I have to not thinking of it even though I really wish I can go. Even for a day, it's meaningful and memorable to me.

Taxonomy of Vascular Plants Practical (18.2.2011)

Zingiberales order is what I learn on that day. During the practical session, we had to distinguish the inflorescence of each family by drawing and labeling the specimen and also determine the floral formula.

The Zingiberales order is made up of 8 families, mostly tropical plants that are commonly grown as ornamental. They also have culinary and medicinal uses. Specific characteristics which distinguish the Zingiberales from the other plants include;

Rhizomatous herb

Young leaf roll and present or midrib

Present of ligule

Involucral bract

Stamen and filament formed staminoid structure

Zigomorphic flower

Out of 8, we only given 3 species of different family; Cannaceae, Heliconiaceae and Musaceae.

Cannaceae (Canna indica)

Cannas are distinguished by the presence of mucilage cells and a petal like style fused to a single fertile stamen. The flower is a bisexual which mean male and female part are in the same flower, often lasting only a day. Have 3 distinct, imbricate sepals and 3 connate, imbricate petals. Have 1 functional stamen. The filament connate with staminodes; adnate to corolla while the anther is unilocular. 3 or 4 petaloid staminodes; 1 larger than the others and recurved, all basally connate and adnate to corolla. 3 carpel are connate and the ovary is inferior with axile placentation. Ovules numerous in each locule. There are nectaries in septa of ovary. The fruit is warty capsule and usually splitting irregularly by disintegration of the fruit wall.

Heliconiaceae (Heliconia psittacorum)

Heliconias are attractive tropical plants with banana-like leaves and beautiful. Long lasting inflorescences composed of showy bracts which contain the true flowers. It may be distinguished from other members of the Zingiberales by their inverted flowers, a sterile staminode and fruits which are drupes. The flowers are bisexual. Its inflorescence do have branch, persistent, colored bracts in the axils of which are fascicles of flowers with petaloid tepals and large herbs with 2-ranked leaves. The fruit has a single hard seed per locule.

Musaceae (Musa acuminata)

Musaceae is a family of banana. The flowers are zygomorphic and functionally uni sexual or bisexual, the proximal ones being female and the distal ones male. There are 2 tepals; compound tepal and 1 free tepal. The androecium usually consists of 5 fertile stamens and a staminode that is opposite the free tepal. The gynoecium consists of a single compound pistil of 3 carpels, a single style and an inferior ovary with 3 locules, each containing numerous axile ovules.

Can you see the differences between the male and female?? I didn't zoom in my lens for female. Equally in the same length when I take a photo of them. Female part especially the ovary is bigger than the male. This is because this part eventually become a banana fruit. Here is a picture of female ovary that have been cut it into 2;

Dry and sober evening

My eyes sick of seeing and staring the notes I have printed yesterday. It messes my bed. Luckily its me who done it, so I'm the one to be blame. Yeah! Yeah! My fault as I prefer to have my study there. If others do that on my bed, I eventually will burst out. What I really want is!! Just put my notes back where it belong. My head is full of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), I can't take it anymore. No spaces left, only explosion may occur. But I ~~haven't finish~~ all the chapters, how and where do I want to put the rest?? Best solution: extremely needed an oxygen for my ICU. Breath out! Breath in! Phew, the notes was completely full in detailed for every chapter and I need to memorize while understand what I had read. Now, I'm taking a half hour break to release my mind, out of EIA world. Wishing me a good luck for my tomorrow EIA Midterm. Hope I can do as good as I done my Chemotaxonomy last week. *finger cross*

The Sound of Music

Remember the 7 children of the Trapp family?

Yes, it had shown on TV. You may think you’re sick of it or not liking it at all but I do love it. Why you don’t like them; nun-in-training Julie Andrews hauling around those Von Trapp’s children and oddly the sexy voice of Christopher Plummer when singing “Edelweiss”. Is that doesn’t melt you? Oh my!! When I look at this picture again, I miss the children especially the youngest one. She was adorable to me.

The Sound of Music is a 1965 American Musical Film which directed by Robert Wise and starring, Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. It is based on the Broadway Musical the Sound of Music, with songs written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. What I love about this movie is its ability to bring audiences into another world with such ease. The film’s characters and story are very good with the combination of memorable musical moments of all time. Also, the outstanding music blew me away. Its tuneful songs and collectively produce one of the best soundtracks in musical history. Many of the songs serve the story well. Not forgetting Julie Andrews, she plays the biggest part in making the film itself. She is simply remarkable that she can do no wrong. She creates character that are easy to love and impossible to hate.
